Thick-walled stainless steel pipes refer to stainless steel pipes with a wall thickness of 10-50.0 mm, while those with a wall thickness of more than 50 mm are called extra-thick-walled stainless steel pipes. These pipes play a key role in many industrial fields with their excellent corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, good mechanical properties and processing performance. According to the different materials, thick-walled stainless steel pipes can be divided into many types, such as 304, 316L, 310S, etc. Each material has its own unique chemical composition and physical properties.

2205 alloy (UNS S32305/S31803) is a duplex stainless steel composed of 22% chromium, 3% molybdenum and 5-6% nickel-nitrogen alloy. It has high strength, good impact toughness and good overall and local resistance to strong corrosion.
Compared to 316L and 317L austenitic stainless steels, 2205 alloy has superior performance in pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, it has high corrosion resistance, lower thermal expansion coefficient and higher thermal conductivity than austenite.
Compared to austenitic stainless steels, it has twice the compressive strength, designers can reduce its weight and cost compared to 316L and 317L.
