Thin wall tube

Overview:Thin-walled tubes are made by perforating steel ingots or solid tubes into rough tubes, and then hot-rolling, cold-rolling or cold-drawing. Thin-walled tubes play an important role in my country's steel pipe industry. The raw material of thin-walled tubes is round tube billets, which are cut by a cutting machine into billets with a length of about 1 meter and sent to the furnace for heating via a conveyor belt.

    Production group spacing: outer diameter Φ6~426mm, wall thickness: 1~25mm.


    Production standards: GB/T14976-2012, GB/T14975-2012, GB13296-2013, ASTM A312, ASTM A213, etc.


    Normal single length: Unfixed length is 4 meters to 8 meters, fixed length is the customer-specified length with an upper limit of 9 meters.


    Delivery status: pickling and solid solution treatment.


    Application characteristics: fluid transportation/mechanical equipment/engineering installation, etc.

  • ‌· Wall thickness calculation formula‌:


    1. Design pressure (P): MPa


    2. Outer diameter (D): mm


    3. Material allowable stress (S): 137MPa for 304 stainless steel


    4. Weld coefficient (E): 1.0 for seamless pipe‌


    ‌· Material identification comparison‌:


    1. Drinking water/chemicals: select 316L material (chloride ion corrosion resistance)


    2. Ordinary cold water: 304 material is sufficient‌


    ‌‌‌· Selection Guide:


    1. Determine the medium type: 316L material for drinking water/chemicals, 304 material for ordinary cold water


    2. Calculate flow requirements: DN15-DN25 for home use, DN32-DN300 for engineering use


    3. Pressure level selection: 1.6MPa for conventional water supply, ≥2.5MPa for high-rise buildings


    4. Connection mode adaptation: Press-type connection for exposed pipes, welding connection for concealed projects


    5. Surface treatment requirements: Electrolytic polishing of the inner wall (Ra≤0.4μm) is food grade, and ordinary pickling and passivation is industrial grade
